ASE Technology to Acquire ADI's Malaysian Chip Factory

ASE Technology has announced its Malaysian subsidiary has signed a memorandum of agreement to acquire 100% of Analog Devices' (ADI) manufacturing facility in Penang, Malaysia.

The acquisition involves a key analog chip production site spanning over 680,000 square feet. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

ASE stated the move aims to strengthen global supply chain resilience and expand its overseas production footprint. It deepens the long-term partnership with ADI, enhancing ASE's ability to serve customers in growing sectors like AI, automotive, and industrial control. Both companies also plan a long-term supply agreement and joint investment to upgrade the facility's technical capabilities.
