Compared with traditional silicon, silicon carbide (SiC) offers a wider bandgap, higher critical breakdown field, better thermal conductivity, and faster electron saturation drift velocity, matching power semiconductors' shift toward high frequency, high voltage, high efficiency, and high-temperature tolerance. SiC-based power devices enable switching power systems to achieve higher frequency, efficiency, and miniaturization.

The 800V SiC PSR Converter uses PSR control without secondary-side feedback, featuring a streamlined BOM and sensitive fault protection, widely used in flyback converters. Chipown's smart PSR control platform with SiC devices further reduces transformer size and meets domestic and international efficiency standards, suiting 18–48W power adapters and smart appliances.

The SiC SSR Controller series upgrades supply voltage range, drive clamp voltage, and switching speed for SiC devices, driving them safely and reliably. It includes three controllers: AP8271 with classic PWM control for 30–65W adapters; PN8212L with innovative QR-Lock control for 65–140W fast chargers; and PN8229 with innovative ZVS control for 800–1500V bus computing energy applications.

The 1700V SiC SSR Converter targets high voltage and high power density challenges from AI computing. Building on the PN8229 platform, PN8703 integrates 1700V SiC power devices, significantly raising power density for 800V to 24V/12V DC-DC conversion.

The SiC PFC Controller addresses power factor correction requirements when input power exceeds 75W. The PN8280 controller upgrades supply voltage range, drive clamp voltage, and switching speed, extending COT-controlled PFC applications to 300W.

Overall, Chipown's SiC power chip solutions span 18W small-power consumer to 300W medium/high-power industrial scenarios, offering an alternative to traditional silicon power's low efficiency, large size, high temperature rise, and complex design through co-optimized SiC devices and dedicated control chips.

ICgoodFind Summary: Chipown packages SiC devices and control chips into four series covering 18W adapters to 300W industrial power. The hard part of SiC power adoption is not the device but matching drive and control—this solution's value is lowering that collaboration barrier.
