GWA and Apple will jointly drive demand for 12-inch advanced silicon wafers produced at GWA’s new flagship plant in Sherman, Texas. GWA stated this move brings critical materials back to the U.S., aiding the reconstruction of local chip manufacturing supply chains.

GlobalWafers Chairwoman Hsiu-Lan Hsu emphasized that iPhones and iPads are globally renowned, and she is pleased that GWA’s silicon wafers will be used in these iconic products. Apple COO Sabih Khan said, through the new U.S. manufacturing initiative, Apple is proud to partner with GWA to create jobs and bring more manufacturing back to the U.S.—part of Apple’s $60 billion U.S. investment commitment over the next four years.
