On January 21, authoritative analytics firm Clarivate officially released the 2026 “Top 100 Global Innovators” list. China’s leading memory chipmaker, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), made its debut on the prestigious ranking, securing international recognition for innovation and drawing wide industry attention.

Notably, CXMT is the only semiconductor memory company among the seven mainland Chinese enterprises selected this year, highlighting its role as an innovation benchmark in China’s domestic memory‑chip sector.

The “Top 100 Global Innovators” list is a globally recognized benchmark for assessing comprehensive innovation capability. Selection is based on rigorous criteria covering technological influence, innovation investment, global footprint, and distinctiveness, with honorees representing leaders in global innovation. The ranking emphasizes invention quality and impact rather than quantity, requiring candidates to hold substantial patent portfolios and demonstrate global patent‑filing capabilities.

Regarding CXMT’s inclusion, Clarivate explicitly noted that the company is “dedicated to independent R&D and innovation in DRAM memory technology, consistently breaking through core technology barriers to provide critical support for the global electronics supply chain,” underscoring the innovative strength of China’s memory‑chip sector.

Behind this recognition is CXMT’s sustained R&D investment and patent accumulation. As of June 30, 2025, the company held 5,589 domestic and international patents, with core technologies fully self‑controlled. Its recently launched DDR5 and LPDDR5X products have reached internationally leading performance levels: DDR5 peak data rates exceed 8000 Mbps, while LPDDR5X achieve up to 10667 Mbps, with significantly improved power efficiency over previous generations, making them well‑suited for a wide range of terminal applications.

Joining CXMT on the list from mainland China are Tencent, Huawei, BOE, CATL, ZTE, and TCL Technology, covering key sectors such as technology, electronics, and new energy, collectively demonstrating the growing global innovation influence of Chinese enterprises.

Beyond this innovation accolade, CXMT’s IPO progress is also attracting significant attention. On December 30, 2025, the Shanghai Stock Exchange accepted the company’s application for a Sci‑Tech Innovation Board listing, with a proposed fundraising target of RMB 29.5 billion. The offering is jointly sponsored by China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) and China Securities Co., Ltd.

Founded in June 2016, CXMT focuses on the R&D, design, production, and sales of DRAM products. After years of deep cultivation in the memory‑chip field, the company has gradually broken foreign monopolies and enhanced the domestic memory industry chain.

Financial data reflects a strong upward trend: revenue for 2022, 2023, and 2024 reached RMB 8.287 billion, RMB 9.087 billion, and RMB 24.178 billion, respectively. In 2024, revenue surged 166.07% year‑over‑year, with net profit rising 56.27%, indicating substantially improved profitability and robust business resilience.

ICgoodFind : CXMT’s debut on the Global Top 100 Innovators list reflects its technological strength and elevates the profile of China’s domestic DRAM industry. Its upcoming IPO and further technology breakthroughs are highly anticipated.
