Tokyo Electron (TEL), a top-tier semiconductor equipment manufacturer, has officially opened its new process development building in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

The new facility, representing a 47 billion yen investment, will focus on advancing R&D for coating/developing systems and cleaning systems. It features a semiconductor-grade cleanroom for technology demonstrations.
The President of TEL Kyushu stated the center's core mission is to develop equipment targeting 1nm and more advanced processes. TEL already holds the leading global market share in coating/developing equipment and ranks second worldwide in cleaning equipment.
