Aug 20 – Supply chain sources cited by Taiwan’s MoneyDJ report that TSMC Arizona’s Fab 21 Phase 2 (P2) in Phoenix will shift from pure 3nm to a 3nm+2nm mixed capacity structure.
TSMC Arizona Fab 21 P2 is currently undergoing cleanroom and mechanical-electrical integration, with equipment installation set to start in October 2026. The facility will split into Zones A and B: Zone A continues 3nm FinFET deployment, while Zone B advances 2nm GAA process introduction without waiting for future P3 construction.
Media projects Fab 21 P2 to complete a mini-line pilot in Q2 2027 and start mass production in Q4 2027—earlier than the previous 2028 target.
Notably, Fab 21 Phase 1 (P1), with 5/4nm FinFET capabilities, is already in mass production and contributed to TSMC’s net profit in Q2 2025.
