Arm to Acquire DreamBig Semiconductor for $265M to Boost Data Center AI

Arm Holdings has announced an agreement to acquire DreamBig Semiconductor for $265 million in cash. The move is a strategic step to strengthen Arm's capabilities in the data center and networking sectors, particularly for AI workloads.

The acquisition target, DreamBig, specializes in data center AI chip technology. Its flagship Mercury AI-SuperNIC product offers high-speed networking capabilities crucial for connecting AI superchips. The deal is expected to close by the end of Arm's fiscal Q4 in March 2026.

This strategic purchase is backed by Arm's strong financial performance. The company recently reported Q2 FY2026 revenue of $1.14 billion, a 34% year-over-year increase, marking its third consecutive quarter with revenue over $1 billion. Demand for its data center technology has grown 14-fold since 2021.
