Description Herga air switch. This economical and sturdy membrane box is designed for panel installation. Specially suitable for outdoor use, easy to clean pneumatic switch systems for actuators, switch components, conduits, and accessories, allowing for remote operation of circuits and enhancing safety in hazardous areas. The actuator is a bellows that moves air down the duct to the switch element during compression. This compressed air then expands the bellows inside the switch to manipulate the electrical contacts. When used in humid environments or when electrical conversion may pose a danger due to arcing, switches and all circuit wiring can be installed outside the danger zone to provide the operator with overall electrical insulation of the equipment. This type of application includes: battery charging rooms, laboratories, garages, or places where explosive gases, vapors, or powders are present. When the assembled air switch and actuator form a sealed system, the resulting temperature fluctuations will cause pressure changes and ultimately affect the switch performance. To prevent this situation, the total volume of the system must be controlled below the critical value of the specified temperature range, and based on this, the maximum length (and volume) of the air duct can be specified for any combination of switches and actuators.
