Description RS-485 The line driver and receiver, EXAR Exar has various RS-485 transceivers that comply with commonly used fieldbus standards, including PROFIBUS. Some may have advanced features such as enhanced receiver fault protection and 15kV ESD protection, ensuring reliable and robust data communication over long cable lengths. Exar's high ESD equipment complies with+/-15kV IEC 61000-4-2 and+/-15kV HBM (human body model). The EXAR RS 485 transceiver can also be used for RS 422. The pins and parameters of most Exar serial transceivers are compatible with commonly used industrial equipment for direct embedded second resource replacement.
