Description Phase controlled thyristor, Littelfuse's excellent unidirectional switch, is used for phase control applications such as heating and motor speed control. Micro ampere current can easily trigger the sensitive gate SCR. At a current of several milliamps below 1.5V potential, standard phase control SCR can be triggered. ###Thyristor - Littelfuse Thyristor is a solid-state semiconductor device with four alternating layers of N-type and P-type materials. They act as bistable switches, functioning when their gates receive current triggers and continuing to function when in forward bias. Thyristor is synonymous with silicon controlled rectifier (SCR).
