Description R-C Shock absorber noise and arc suppressor R-C shock absorbers and arc suppressors are used to suppress induced shocks generated by electric motors, solenoid valves, or relay coils. Whenever the current is interrupted by an inductive load, high-energy noise spikes will be generated. These noise spikes can interfere with related equipment, leading to unstable operation and even accelerating the wear of relay contacts.
