Description RS The quadrupole valve contributes to voltage gain and stability, and it additionally has another grid (shielding grid). Shielding refers to electrical shielding, where the cathode and grid electrodes in the plate act as shields. These shields transfer electrons directly from the cathode to the plate. The term quadrupole has two grids, meaning four active electrodes. RS five pole tube valves are available in single, paired, or four pair formats. The pentapole tube has an additional grid called the suppressor grid. A five pole tube is a three grid tube with five electrodes. RS beam pentapole tube is used for power applications, combined with KT88 valve, to limit the dissipated power of the cathode to 42 W.
