Description 1 The USB Type-5/Type-6 Ethernet extender USB110EXT2 USB 1.1 extender allows you to use standard Category 5 or Category 6 UTP cable wiring, bypassing the usual 5m (15ft) limit and extending the USB 1.1 connection distance to 40m (131ft), allowing the host computer system to be securely stored in a remote location. USB extenders have a compact design that does not require an external power source, making them an ideal solution for remote USB cameras, keyboards, mice, or other input devices in environments where installation space is limited or electrical sockets are not easily accessible. Capable of providing up to 300mA of power (when powered by 500mA from the host computer), the extender fully complies with USB 1.1 specifications, supports up to 12Mbps of data bandwidth with one USB 1.1 port and one RJ45 port supporting a maximum distance of up to 40m (131ft). It is a Class 5 or 6 wired full speed USB 1.1 standard host interface with a data bandwidth of up to 12Mbps. The efficient circuit design provides up to 300mA of power at 8kV contacts and 16kV air electrical electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection at the remote end. The integrated USB cable does not require drivers or software. * * Application: * Safe environment, where the host computer must be located in a secure location that cannot be accessed from keyboards, mice, cameras, or other USB input devices. Use existing wall mounted Category 5/6 cabling to extend USB 1.1 device connections between rooms by laying a single, easy to install Category 5/6 cable, reducing cable clutter and the need for intermediate USB hubs/repeaters.
