Description DEHNguard Modular Surge Arrester Type 2 DEHNguard Modular Type 2 Surge Arrester, as a pre wired base with plug-in modules, provides energy consistent with other Dehn Redline products, complies with BS7671 Revision 1 high discharge capacity, uses high load metal oxide varistors and spark gap status indicators, and uses thermal dynamic control to monitor SPD replacement of plugs for maintenance and testing functions without the need for too many tools. Surge protection equipment, SPD (DIN rail) voltage surge is often referred to as peak or transient overvoltage, which is usually caused by switch fluorescent lamps, fuse burnout, or nearby lightning activity. The worst voltage surges are usually caused by lightning, with voltages up to 6000V and current surges exceeding 3000A. The maximum value of voltage and current surges caused by lightning strikes depends on the location within the building's wiring system. BS7671: First revised edition in 2011, sections 443 and 534 cover risk assessment and provide guidance on electronic device protection for installation engineers to follow. The BSEN 62305 standard series provides the most comprehensive information on lightning and surge protection.
