Description ISL9238，Step down boost narrow small VDC battery charger with SMBus and USB OTG evaluation board ISL9238EVAL1Z evaluation board can demonstrate the performance of ISL9238. The boost and buck narrow output voltage DC battery charger can provide high and low load efficiency, fast instantaneous response, and seamless DCM/CCM switching. The charging function of limiting the number of lithium-ion batteries, switching frequency, and adapter current can be programmed through a single resistor. In charging mode, ISL9238 input power can be provided through an AC-DC charger adapter, USB power device port, or travel adapter. It can safely charge up to 4 lithium-ion batteries in a series configuration. After enabling the USB On the Go (OTG) function, ISL9238 can operate in reverse buck mode to provide 5V output at the USB port. ISL9238 can program key parameters through serial SMBus/I ² C communication. These include adapter current limit, charger current limit, system voltage setting, and continuous charging current limit.
