Description LMx93/LM2903 The series of dual comparator Texas Instruments LM193, LM293, LM393, and LM2903 are dual differential input voltage comparators designed for single power supply operation with a wide voltage range. The common mode input voltage range includes grounding, and these devices have open collector outputs. ###The Texas Instruments series voltage comparator includes not only traditional single, dual, and four-way comparator packages, but also window comparators and overvoltage and undervoltage monitors. Although comparators and operational amplifiers appear to be similar devices, their operations in practical applications are significantly different. Operational amplifiers are suitable for linear operation with appropriate feedback, while comparators are customized for fast switching and typically operate in open circuit mode. The dedicated voltage comparator has a significantly shorter propagation delay and can have a faster response time under saturation conditions. Most comparators are also more tolerant of high differential input voltages, and many comparators have open collector outputs, allowing them to operate in parallel with other devices.
