The MULTILOCK 040 plug and socket housing features a locking plate design, allowing for the use of spear free contacts. The use of spear free contacts can avoid entanglement and deformation of locking plates. The main feature of these Multilock 040 connectors is the locking mechanism. The standard MULTILOCK 040 plug and socket housing features an integrated dual locking mechanism to ensure secure contact fixation. The MULTILOCK 040 MK II plug housing has a locking mechanism, including a 2-piece double locking plate for securing the contacts and preventing partial insertion. The MULTILOCK 040 series automotive connectors include plug and socket housings and printed circuit board sockets, designed for wire to wire and wire to board applications. The plug housing requires female pressure contact, while the socket housing requires male plug contact.
