Description Bourns 1210 Series surge protection equipment with a maximum discharge current rating of 100 kA, multi pole single block design, DIN rail installation, integrated thermal disconnect visual fault indicator in accordance with UL 60691 standard, remote signal function, compact design, especially suitable for limited space surge protection equipment. SPD (DIN rail) voltage surge is often referred to as peak or transient overvoltage, which is usually caused by switch fluorescent lamps, fuse burnout, or nearby lightning activity. The worst voltage surges are usually caused by lightning, with voltages up to 6000V and current surges exceeding 3000A. The maximum value of voltage and current surges caused by lightning strikes depends on the location within the building's wiring system. BS7671: First revised edition in 2011, sections 443 and 534 cover risk assessment and provide guidance on electronic device protection for installation engineers to follow. The BSEN 62305 standard series provides the most comprehensive information on lightning and surge protection.
