Description MCP1623/1624 The synchronous boost converters Microchip MCP1623 and MCP1624 are adjustable, fixed frequency, synchronous boost DC-DC converters. They are primarily designed to provide compact and efficient power solutions for PIC microcontrollers in single, two, and three cell battery powered applications. Set the required output voltage of the device by applying a small external resistor voltage divider. This design allows the regulator to start at a low input of 0.65 V without surge current or output voltage overshoot. Combining low resistance N-channel boost switches and synchronous P-channel switches can provide high efficiency. All compensation and protection circuits are integrated into the equipment, minimizing the need for external components. It also has a load disconnect mode, which provides input-output isolation when disabled.
