Description NPN Or PNP supplement (single pole double throw) output. This includes the ability to use normally closed outputs as normally open alarm outputs. The fixed field unit compares the reflection of the light beam emitted by the sensor from an object to two different detectors at the sensor head. This enables the sensor to detect close range objects in front of another object or background, which can be as low as a few millimeters. The backward reflection type has a special lens that can polarize the emitted light and filter out excess reflections, making these sensors suitable for applications where other reflection sensing schemes are not applicable.
