Description MCP1630 The reference design for nickel hydrogen battery charger is that the nickel hydrogen battery charger board can accommodate 3 nickel hydrogen batteries. The appearance and quantity of batteries can be changed in the firmware. The design adopts MCP1630 high-speed analog PWM combined with PIC microcontroller. When charging, the initial current for fast charging is set to 1.35A, the pre-processing charging current is 170mA, and the pre-processing threshold is 3V. The programmed parameters - modify the fast charging current in the firmware to 130mA (1 hour), overvoltage protection (remove the battery), overcharge protection to prevent damage to the battery, overcurrent protection to prevent short circuiting of the battery, battery reversal protection, input short circuit protection, overheating protection to prevent the battery from contacting overheating temperature during charging, with a soft start function to maintain a low reference voltage during startup.
