On November 3 local time, Vietnam's Government Cipher Committee and military telecom group Viettel jointly released the country's first self-designed security semiconductor platform and its first security chip, VGC v1.0.

The chip measures 10mm×10mm, integrates about 300 million transistors, is manufactured on a 28nm CMOS process, and embeds Vietnam's self-developed encryption algorithms directly into chip hardware, mainly targeting government and defense sectors.
ICgoodFind Summary: Vietnam's first self-designed security chip uses a 28nm mature process and hardwires self-developed encryption algorithms into hardware for government and defense. From chip design to manufacturing, the significance lies in building self-designed security chip capability; the 28nm choice also shows its positioning in reliability and self-controllability rather than advanced nodes.
