On September 30, Taiwan's Economic Daily News cited semiconductor equipment industry sources saying TSMC plans to add a new U.S. manufacturing site beyond its existing Phoenix, Arizona campus, with plans for six advanced wafer fabs.

The report said the new campus could require investment exceeding Arizona's $265 billion, with Dallas, Texas as the main candidate location. Wafer fabs have high water, power, and workforce demands, and concentrating capacity can create reverse economies of scale. A multi-site layout can spread resource pressure. The report remains a supply chain rumor; TSMC has not officially confirmed the project, and uncertainty remains.

ICgoodFind: TSMC is evaluating a second U.S. wafer manufacturing campus with multiple advanced lines. A multi-site overseas layout helps supply chain resource pressure and supports AI chip foundry demand.
