On September 24, European CPU startup SiPearl announced it had delivered the first Rhea1 processor samples to supercomputing vendor Bull on September 22. Under their earlier agreement, a CPU partition powered by Rhea1 will be integrated into Europe's first exascale supercomputer, deployed in Germany. Bull has begun Rhea1 integration testing on its BullSequana XH3000 platform. If the project progresses smoothly, the order will bring SiPearl its first significant revenue.
The Rhea1 processor is manufactured on TSMC's 6nm process and packs 80 Arm Neoverse V1 cores, each with two 256-bit SVE units. It integrates four 16GB HBM stacks, offers four DDR5 channels supporting 2DPC, and can expand to 104 PCIe Gen5 lanes.
