Microchip Launches dsPIC33CK Value DSC – Low‑Cost, High‑Performance Real‑Time Control

Microchip has introduced the dsPIC33CK Value family of Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs), delivering deterministic real‑time control at an accessible price point. Running at up to 100 MHz , the DSC integrates high‑resolution PWM and a 12‑bit ADC – enough for field‑oriented motor control, touch sensing, and precision sensor applications without unnecessary features.

Flash memory ranges from 32 KB to 256 KB , allowing easy migration within the dsPIC33CK family. The device is AEC‑Q100 Grade 1 qualified and includes secure boot and firmware security features. Peripherals: 8‑channel PWM (2 ns resolution) , 12‑bit ADC up to 2 MSPS , 12‑bit DAC, analog comparators, and communication interfaces including CAN FD, LIN, SENT, UART, SPI, I²C .

Microchip’s Joe Thomsen noted that many real‑time applications do not need high‑end DSCs but require practical performance and stable pricing. The value series simplifies design with a fixed, volume‑unlimited unit price.
