At CES 2026, MediaTek officially introduced the Filogic 8000 series chips, marking a strategic move into the next-generation wireless standard Wi-Fi 8 (IEEE 802.11bn) and laying the hardware foundation for enhanced connectivity in an era of increasingly dense smart devices.

Unlike Wi-Fi 7's focus on peak speeds, Wi-Fi 8 is designed to act as a "traffic controller," with a core objective of resolving network congestion in multi-device environments. It ensures orderly access for numerous devices within limited bandwidth, delivering stable and reliable connections even in high-density scenarios—effectively eliminating lag and dropouts.

As a core enabler of the Wi-Fi 8 ecosystem, the Filogic 8000 series is built for gateways and client devices such as smartphones, laptops, and smart home products, prioritizing reliability throughout its design. To address bandwidth competition among connected devices in homes and enterprises, the chip features multi-access point coordination technology, allowing multiple routers or access points to function as a unified intelligent system that optimizes traffic flow and significantly improves network efficiency.

Additionally, the Filogic 8000 utilizes dynamic sub-band operation and in-device coexistence technologies to reduce signal interference and enhance data throughput. This ensures smooth connectivity even in ultra-dense environments like airports and stadiums. Combined with Wi-Fi 8's advanced spectrum features, devices can share radio resources more efficiently, delivering consistent performance across diverse scenarios such as home entertainment and enterprise applications.

This technological leap is crucial for AI-driven emerging applications. The Filogic 8000 meets the low-latency, high-reliability demands of applications like XR (Extended Reality), cloud gaming, and industrial automation, while also extending long-range signal coverage to support the widespread adoption of these use cases. Leading manufacturers including ASUS, Acer, and HP have already committed to adopting the chip, with first samples expected in 2026, accelerating the commercialization of the Wi-Fi 8 ecosystem.

ICgoodFind Perspective: The Wi-Fi 8 era is here, and MediaTek’s latest chip paves the way for smarter connectivity. We are dedicated to helping the industry access leading wireless chip resources and seize new opportunities in network evolution.
