Chinese power semiconductor leader Yangjie Technology plans a significant expansion in Vietnam, investing $30-40 million to establish a new GPP wafer manufacturing facility in Bac Ninh Province. This factory is projected to reach an annual output of 240 million wafers, representing a major strategic move into Southeast Asia.

This investment is a milestone for Vietnam's semiconductor ecosystem. Traditionally focused on packaging and testing, this new factory marks the country's first foray into upstream wafer manufacturing. It positions Bac Ninh Province to move up the value chain, transitioning from backend services to core manufacturing processes.

As a top Chinese IDM (Integrated Device Manufacturer), Yangjie Technology boasts a complete vertical supply chain from design to sales. Its products, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC devices, serve key sectors like automotive electronics and new energy. The company has demonstrated strong performance, with revenue reaching 5.35 billion yuan in the first three quarters of 2025, a 20.89% year-over-year increase. The Vietnam plant complements its existing overseas packaging facility and planned investments in Malaysia, supporting its "dual-brand, dual-circulation" global strategy where overseas revenue already constitutes about 30%.

ICgoodFind:Yangjie's move is a strategic play to diversify production and strengthen its global footprint. It capitalizes on Vietnam's growing role in the semiconductor supply chain while leveraging the company's full-industry-chain strengths to enhance long-term competitiveness.
