China's leading domestic CPU developer Loongson Technology has won a final appellate victory in a defamation lawsuit against Shanghai-based CIP United. The Beijing Fourth Intermediate People's Court rejected CIP United's appeal and upheld the original ruling.
According to the judgment, CIP United must pay Loongson 450,000 RMB in compensation and publicly apologize. The apology must be prominently displayed on CIP United's official website homepage for ten consecutive days. Should CIP United fail to comply, the court will publish the judgment on the People's Court Gazette website at its expense.

The lawsuit originated in March 2021 when Loongson accused CIP United of publishing false information that damaged Loongson's reputation and its partnerships. The case was formally accepted by the Beijing Internet Court in July 2021. The first-instance judgment in July 2025 ordered the apology and compensation.
Loongson stated the final verdict will not affect its normal operations or financial performance.
