This follows a series of workforce adjustments, particularly within VMware, acquired in late 2023, where staff has been reduced by approximately half alongside product price increases.

The layoffs align with Broadcom’s intensified focus on AI-driven growth. The company recently reached a $1 trillion market cap, fueled by its AI chip business, and signed a strategic agreement with OpenAI to supply 10 GW of custom AI accelerators.

ICgoodFind : Broadcom's restructuring reflects a strategic pivot toward AI, streamlining operations to strengthen its competitive position.
