On September 8th, Taiwanese media DigiTimes reported that Broadcom is thriving in the AI ASIC/XPU market. After securing chip orders from OpenAI, it is now in full swing developing customized products for Apple and xAI.
Currently, Broadcom’s AI ASIC/XPU business has firmly locked in major clients including Google, Meta, and ByteDance. The chip co-developed with OpenAI is advancing smoothly—all tests have been easily passed—and mass production is expected in the second half of 2026.
Looking ahead to future orders:
- Development of the 2nd-gen AI ASIC for ByteDance is progressing steadily, with mass production slated for 2026.
- If product development for new clients Apple and xAI passes verification smoothly, mass production orders will be signed, with output expected in 2027.
- Iterative products for Google and Meta are planned for mass production in 2027-2028.
- ByteDance’s 3rd-gen ASIC and OpenAI’s 2nd-gen ASIC may enter mass production after 2028.
