Recently, Xinyuan Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. completed industrial and commercial changes: existing shareholders exited, while entities affiliated with Ant Group (under Alibaba) and Accelerator XIII Ltd. became new investors. Its registered capital increased from approximately RMB 46.537 million to around RMB 50.297 million.
As early as the end of 2024, a company under ByteDance had already invested in Xinyuan Semiconductor, holding a 9.5% stake. ByteDance stated the investment aimed to support the development of virtual reality (VR) headset devices.
Founded in 2019, Xinyuan Semiconductor is a leading domestic enterprise in the commercialization of ReRAM (Resistive Random-Access Memory) new storage technology. It focuses on R&D of this technology and related chips, covering three major areas: AI in-memory computing IP & large-model acceleration, system-level storage chips, and embedded storage. Currently, it has achieved commercial shipments in segments such as storage chips, in-memory computing IP, and high-performance MCUs.
Technically, Xinyuan has an integrated closed-loop capability, covering device materials to pilot production. It adopts a Fab-lite model, polishes processes relying on its independent pilot production line, and its technology is compatible with CMOS processes and conventional materials—enabling rapid mass production.
