Aug 25, 2025 – GaN/SiC power semiconductor leader Navitas (NASDAQ: NVTS) announced a leadership shift: Chris Allexandre will take over as President & CEO on Sept 1 (and join the board), while co-founder Gene Sheridan steps down from the same roles/board on Aug 31—no operational/policy disagreements, ensuring a smooth transition.
Navitas Chairman Richard J. Hendrix praised Sheridan’s 10-year role in building the next-gen power semiconductor firm; Sheridan expressed pride in Navitas’ achievements and confidence in Allexandre to advance its "electrify the world" mission.
Allexandre, a 25+ year semiconductor vet, managed analog/power products across cloud, industrial, and auto sectors. Most recently at Renesas (since Oct 2023), he led its $2.5B power division—shifting strategy to cloud/auto and supporting the 2024 Transphorm (GaN firm) acquisition. He also held exec roles at Renesas (2019-2023 Chief Sales/Marketing Officer), IDT, NXP, Fairchild, and Texas Instruments (rose to EMEA Sales VP over 16 years).
Allexandre plans to strengthen Navitas’ GaN/SiC leadership and tap growth in AI data centers/energy infrastructure—sectors with high GaN/SiC electrification demand—to drive the company’s next phase.
