Aug 23 – At the 2025 China Computing Power Conference, MIIT Vice Minister Xiong Jijun announced key computing power industry measures.
As of end-June, China’s computing power achievements included 10.85M active computing center racks, 788 EFLOPS intelligent computing scale, 14,060 trunk 400G ports, 1680 EB+ storage, and 1.42 average PUE—showcasing infrastructure growth.
Xiong outlined MIIT’s plan:
- Infrastructure: Guide orderly facility build, optimize layout, and advance green data centers.
- Tech Innovation: Boost enterprise-led innovation, accelerate GPU chip breakthroughs, and promote new tech via "Computing Power Foundation" project.
- Industry Empowerment: Deepen computing use in education/healthcare/energy, build "intelligent computing ecosystem".
- Cooperation: Expand telecom opening-up to enhance domestic firms’ global capabilities.
