IES RS485 The IES-ABB-RS485-01 for Intelligent Embedded Solutions (IES) is an RS485 backing plate used for alphanumeric LCDs. Simply connect to the back of the LCD module to obtain a compact solution. This backing board allows users to connect up to 32 alphanumeric LCDs to a single RS485 compatible bus. IES-ABB-RS485-01 allows users to have fully addressable control over character placement, customization, and cursor movement, making application settings fast and easy. IES-ABB-RS485-01 has built-in power regulation for LCD and backlight, and can provide complete jumper free settings for internal functions through a serial link. These features include line count, backlight brightness (15 levels), and serial baud rate (9600 default value). In addition, IES-ABB-RS485-01 also has switch configurations for industrial grade RS485 bus protection, load resistors, and pull-up/pull-down resistors. All of these features make the backing board particularly suitable for applications with distributed visual feedback systems in harsh environments.
